Wendy Harms has been a theatre practitioner ever since she wrote a play based on Peanuts cartoons and strong-armed her fellow 6th graders into performing. She was the director, of course.
Now set on her life path, Wendy had joyous experiences in high school theatre and continued on to California University at Long Beach for her BA in Children’s Theatre. Next, she headed for the midwest and the University of Kansas, where she received her MA, also in Children’s Theatre. The world awaited, and Wendy became a professional costume designer, Equity stage manager, actress, marketing director and teacher of children from 3 – 73.
Some 12 years ago, Wendy was invited to direct for MSSD 14, and soon after became the Artistic Director for MSAA. Now she spends her days creating programs with amazing cohorts for even more amazing students
Wendy attended Colorado College and School of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston.
Wendy worked with MSAA initially as a member of the board and later a visual art teacher and administrator since 1999. She has worked with playground design at Ruth Washburn preschool and MSSD14.
She likes all the folks who support MSAA and loves all the kids who share their ideas and talents in our classes.
She has five sisters, one brother, one husband, two daughters, two dogs, likes to make art, hike, ride horses, do yoga and smile at strangers.
